Name: Dodd College (1927-1942)

Historical Note: Dodd College was a private junior college for women in Shreveport, funded by the M. E. Dodd Foundation.  Monroe Elmon Dodd, pastor of the First Baptist Church, was the College’s founder and first president.  The college opened in 1927.  When the college closed (ca. 1942 or 1943) the buildings were purchased for Centenary College.
